Anniversary Calculator

Find out how long you have been together, when your next anniversary is, and the traditional gift for it. Use it as a wedding anniversary calculator, or for dating and work anniversaries.

Start date

Your wedding day, first date or first day at work.

Your time together appears here.

Enter the start date and choose Calculate.

How your time together is counted

We count on the real calendar from your start date to today: full years first, then full months, then days. The next anniversary is the next time your start date comes around. Under the result you also get your next few milestones, the date of any anniversary you choose, and a file to add the date to your calendar every year.

Planning a celebration? Start a countdown to the date, or compare your ages with the Age Difference Calculator. To keep the family's birthdays in one place too, use the Birthday Calendar.

Worked example

Married June 14, 2015, checked on October 2, 2026. From June 14, 2015 to June 14, 2026 is 11 years; to September 14 is 3 more months; to October 2 is 18 days. The next anniversary is the 12th, on June 14, 2027, and its traditional gift is silk.

What anniversary is it this year?

Subtract the year you started from this year. Married in 2015, 2026 is your 11th anniversary year. The number only changes on the day itself: until your date comes around, you are still counting toward it. That is why the calculator says how many full years you have been together and, separately, which anniversary comes next.

For a quick check of any year ahead, type a number into Find any anniversary under the result. For example, a couple married on June 14, 2015 reaches their 25th, the silver anniversary, on June 14, 2040.

How to count anniversary months

A month is complete when the calendar reaches the same day number as your start date. Started on the 14th, every 14th is another month. Some couples call these monthiversaries and mark the first few, or every one in the first year.

Dates late in a month need one rule. When a month has no matching day, it is complete on its last day. Here is how that works for a start date of January 31, 2025:

MonthDate
1Friday, February 28, 2025
2Monday, March 31, 2025
3Wednesday, April 30, 2025
6Thursday, July 31, 2025
12 (1st anniversary)Saturday, January 31, 2026

100 days, 1,000 days and other day milestones

Counting days gives you milestones between the yearly dates. In South Korea, the Korea Herald explains, it is customary for couples to count down to their 100th day together and to celebrate every 100 days. Anyone can borrow the idea: 100 days, 500 days and 1,000 days all make good excuses for a small celebration.

We count the start date as day 0, so day 100 is exactly 100 days later. For a couple married on Sunday, June 14, 2015:

DayDate
100Tuesday, September 22, 2015
500Wednesday, October 26, 2016
1,000Saturday, March 10, 2018
2,000Friday, December 4, 2020
3,000Thursday, August 31, 2023
5,000Tuesday, February 20, 2029
10,000Thursday, October 30, 2042

The same count works for one person: How Many Days Old Am I finds your own 10,000th day. What Day Was I Born tells you the weekday of any date, your wedding day included.

Wedding, dating and work anniversaries

  • Wedding. Use your wedding day. The result adds the traditional gift for your next anniversary year.
  • Dating. Use the date that matters to you both, such as your first date or the day you made it official. There is no right answer, so pick one and stay with it.
  • Work. Use your first day on the job. If your workplace marks years of service, the calculator gives you the exact date of each one.
  • Other. Moving into a home, getting a pet, quitting a habit: any date you want to count from works the same way.

Anniversaries on February 29

A leap day start date only comes around every four years. In the other years, the calculator puts your anniversary on February 28, the last day of February, and the calendar file does the same. In leap years it falls on February 29 itself. Some couples prefer March 1; if that is you, enter March 1 as your start date.
