How birthday twins are counted
Each birthday's share of all US births from 1994 to 2014 tells us what fraction of people have it. Multiplying that share by today's US population gives an estimate of your birthday twins. The world estimate does the same with the world population, assuming the US pattern holds everywhere, so it is only a rough guide.
Your exact-day count, for birth years 1994 to 2014, is not an estimate: it is the number of US births recorded on that date. March 21 accounts for 0.3% of US births in the data. The US population is 342,620,143, so about 943,000 people in the US share a March 21 birthday, and the chance that any one person does is about 1 in 363.
The birthday problem: how many people until two share a birthday?
The chance that at least two people in a group share a birthday rises much faster than most people expect. These are the textbook figures, which treat all 365 days as equally likely.

Just 23. With 23 people there is a 50.7% chance that at least two share a birthday, and with 70 people it is 99.9%. This is the famous birthday problem.
How many people were born on my exact day?
